Top-ranked Oklahoma State has already rattled off an impressive resume this season, but with the big one against No. 2 Penn State looming I wanted to take a look at just how remarkable the Cowboys have been during their 12-0 start. Here's a glance at five statement-making moments from OSU's season so far.

1. Oklahoma State set the points record at the Southern Scuffle.

The Cowboys hung 198 points on a very good Southern Scuffle field to start the year. They surpassed the previous mark of 192 set by Minnesota in 2005. The Missouri Tigers were in second place with 126 points.

2. The Cowboys won the Reno Tournament of Champions with their backups.

Oklahoma State had a pretty big dual on December 16 against Cornell, so heading to Reno for a tournament two days later just wasn't in the cards for most of the Cowboys' starters. However, the OSU bench fared just fine and won the team title by 17 points.

3. Boo Lewallen reminded everyone just how deep OSU is this year.

In case you need further proof that the Cowboys are deeper than the Pacific Ocean, check this out. It's been said more than once on mic that Oklahoma State would have three All-Americans at 141 if the NCAA would allow multiple entries at each weight. Cowboys redshirt freshman Boo Lewallan proved that could be true in the finals of the Reno Tournament of Champions when he knocked off 2016 NCAA finalist Bryce Meredith of Wyoming.

4. Gallagher Iba is an 11th man.

Gallagher Iba Arena is the only arena in the country that is named after a wrestling coach, which goes to show how passionate about the people of Oklahoma are for the sport. And when the team needs them, they show up. Against Iowa this year, Gallagher Iba was rocking, especially when the Cowboys' Kaid Brock knocked off then-No. 1-ranked Cory Clark.

5. John Smith came out of retirement.

I know it was a goof, but if you grew up watching John Smith wrestle like I did, you had to get chills watching him break down in that stance one more time. Plus, this was great for the sport.
