Zain Retherford cut through college wrestling this season like a knife through butter. He had 24 matches that ended early in either a pin or a tech, including every match at the 2017 NCAA tournament. Below is Zain's very painful 25 minutes and 12 seconds of domination from St. Louis.

Round of 32: Zain Retherford tech Joshua Maruca (ASU), 19-2 in 4:55

Every wrestler Zain faced was in the pre-NCAA rankings, starting with Pac-12 champ Maruca. The 19th-ranked redshirt freshman received a beatdown from his fellow Pennsylvanian, and still bounced back to make the round of 16.

Round of 16: Zain Retherford tech Jordan Laster (Princeton), 16-0 in 5:43

Retherford was at his best this match, not even conceding a point to the EIWA champ. He turned No. 15 Laster five times in the final two periods.

Quarterfinals: Zain Retherford tech Alex Kocer (SDSU), 19-2 in 5:14

Kocer walked in ranked 14th but unseeded, and ended up joining Seth Gross as South Dakota State's first Division 1 All Americans. WATCH MATCH

Semifinals: Zain Retherford pins Brandon Sorensen (Iowa), 2:37

A rematch of last year's finals, and everyone remembers the dual this year when Sorensen took Retherford to the edge of the cliff. Retherford left no doubt this time around.

Zain Retherford tech Lavion Mayes (Missouri), 18-2 in 6:43

One of three Missouri finalists, Mayes even got the the first takedown here. But he spent the last six minutes of his career getting turned and turned over again. WATCH MATCH
