With the Liberty Nationals set to being Friday night, we are going to take a look at some of the top wrestlers who are registered to compete this weekend in the 14U divisions. The talented field of 200+ wrestlers will be led by two wrestlers who were featured on the Flo Jr. High Big Board last season in No. 23 Kellyn March and No. 50 Cole Skinner.
March will look to rebound after a tough showing at the Flo Tulsa Nationals where he did not place. The USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals Champion and Kickoff Classic Champion will be the favorite in the 95-pound weight class that will also feature Jalen Spuhler from Wisconsin. Spuhler is a Wisconsin Triple Crown winner and he posted an 8-2 record at this year’s VAC Holiday Duals.
In the 85-pound weight class No. 50 ranked Cole Skinner will compete in one of the field’s toughest brackets as he’ll have to battle past Missouri State Champion Riley Wertz and Colorado Triple Crown winner Jackson Eller. Skinner, who placed second at the Kickoff Classic, will be the favorite to win the bracket.
The 95-pound weight class is another bracket that will feature talent from top to bottom as Nebraska State Champion Emilio Haynes and Minnesota State Champion Paxton Creese will square off versus Andrew Chambal from Michigan and Vincent Zerban from Illinois. Zerban will be the favorite to win the group as he already owns a Flo Kickoff Classic Championship and a third place finish at Tulsa Nationals. Chambal took home a 4th place finish at Tulsa Nationals and finished with a perfect 10-0 record at the VAC Holiday Duals.
Other wrestlers to keep an eye on in their respective weight classes are 115-pound Drew Eller who placed third at both the Flo Kickoff Classic and Tulsa Nationals, 140-pound Nevan Snodgrass from Ohio who is a Freestyle National Champion and Heavyweight Jerrod Osterkamp from Wisconsin who is a Wisconsin State Champion as well as a silver medalist at the Cliff Keen USAW Preseason Nationals.
