David Taylor And Kyle Snyder Win Yarygin
Kyle Snyder became the first American man to win back-to-back Yarygin titles, and David Taylor won by fall in the finals.
While you were sleeping, Kyle Snyder became the first American man to win back-to-back Yarygin titles. Minutes earlier, David Taylor won by fall to claim a Yarygin crown in his debut at the tournament.
Snyder faced the same finals opponent he did a year ago, Rasul Magomedov of Russia. After giving up an early shot clock point, Snyder would go on to force two stepouts and get a takedown to win 4-1.
As he had in every previous match on the day, Taylor gave up the first points in the final. But, he would counter a chest wrap with a roll through half and throw double grapes to pin Fatih Erdin of Turkey and seal his first Yarygin title.
With their wins, both Snyder and Taylor picked up crucial seeding points for October's world championships in Budapest. Snyder extended his grip on the top seed at 97kg by tacking on 21 points, while Taylor picked up 27 seeding points.
Below are their semifinal wins.
