One of the top juniors in the country will be staying in-state for college as Rocky Elam has committed to wrestle for Missouri.
I’m proud to announce that I’ve committed to the University of Missouri to pursue my wrestling and academic career. I’m thankful for everyone who’s supported me so far, including my family, coaches, and those involved with Team Central. #TigerStyle? pic.twitter.com/1g1Z43EEgq

The #12 junior prospect is joining his older brother Zach, who was an NCAA qualifier this year for the Tigers as a true freshman. There are only four guys above him on the 2020 Big Board who have not yet announced their verbal yet.
Elam was 52-1 this year for Staley high school and won a Class 4 title for them, his first Missouri state championship. This past summer he was the 182lb Fargo Cadet freestyle champ.
Currently ranked #10 at 182, he was third at Super 32 this past October. We have him projected as a 197 at the next level, where current Mizzou starter Wyatt Koelling is a redshirt sophomore. They also have redshirt freshman Jacob Raschka, but he did not wrestle any matches this past season.
The Tigers now have two of the Top-12 verbals from the class of 2020, as #3 Keegan O'Toole is also committed.
