2019-20 High School Rankings
113
New Jersey was on the move at 106lbs and Pennsylvania is the one with the big movement at 113lbs. Gary Steen (PA) has now won Ironman and Powerade titles after a subpar Super32 performance down at 106lbs. Carter Dibert (PA) also is back into the top 5 after he briefly appeared in the 120lb rankings where he won King of the Mountain earlier this month. Steen knocked off Dibert at Powerade for the 2nd consecutive year.
Doc B will be absolutely crazy at 113lbs and will be the major factor to shaking the rankings up in the next edition.
Jacob Rivera (CA) was a casualty of the multiple wrestlers from the same team ranked at a weight. He is rumored to be headed to 106lbs for the postseason, but we will take a wait and see approach. He will have a shot to improve his resume at Doc B in the absolutely loaded field.
Injuries are part of the sport, and a slippery slope for rankers. Sometimes wrestlers are taken out of the rankings for known injuries that are going to keep them out of action for a prolonged period, and sometimes wrestlers are left in the rankings. To make it clear for anyone tracking the high school rankings, we will be pulling wrestlers that have not wrestled yet this season by the conclusion of the January 11th tournaments. Some wrestlers that have teammates that are in consideration for ranking spots have already been pulled from the rankings, and will be inserted back into the pool when they resume competition. This often happens with a weight class change. We want consistency, and the current wrestlers to be active to give a fair representation of the wrestling that is taking place at each weight class.
Doc Buchanan, Geary, The Gut Check, The Clash and 5Counties headline the upcoming schedule.
