2nd period: Short takes bottom and does not work out well for him. Nolf throws a boot in, then both legs. Starts working a power half and gets the fall 44 seconds into the period. Penn State up 12-0 now.
2nd: Joseph's choice, takes bottom and out in 5 seconds. Lot of hand fighting before Wanzek fights off a Joseph double. Wanzek digging underhooks to fight off the edge near the end of this period. 4-1 lead for Vincenzo and it will be Wanzek's choice.
3rd period: Wanzek takes bottom with 11 seconds of riding time against him. Wanzek out in five seconds. Low single on Cenzo's right leg into a scramble as Wanzek comes out and hooks the angle, takedown ties it. Eggum tells Wanzek to cut him, a minute to go. Penn State shot, double and score. Cenzo contnues to ride as it is 7-4. Riding time not a factor, but Cenzo rides out the period. Three wins and a 15-0 lead for Penn State.
2nd period: Morelli under Pfarr and out in under 10. 3-1 lead for Morelli and a shot by Pfarr. Hanging on the head 30-40 seconds in. Pfarr digging an underhook and attempts a headlock. No takedowns for over a minute. Flurry on the edge but no score in the last 30 seconds. Late takedown by Morelli on a duckunder.
3rd period: Pfarr is under and out before Morelli can get a minute riding time, 5-2 in favor of Morelli. Body lock for Pfarr walking toward the edge. Morelli still shooting to keep Pfarr backwards, Morelli running to the edge with a shot. Match ends 5-2, visiting PSU leading 18-0.

Pfarr pulls back and drops to the mat. 3-0 lead after the takedown and 55 to go on the restart. No points on a scramble to end the period.
3rd period: McCutcheon on bottom, and Pfarr rides for about 30. Low Shot by McCutcheon in the final minute now. Pfarr continuing to scramble and the crowd boos as it is stalemated with 45 left. Still 3-2 in the closing seconds. McCutcheon unable to get to legs until the last 10 seconds, but McCutcheon ends up beneath Pfarr in a scoreless scramble. Minnesota wins its first match and we are at 24-3 going into heavyweight.
2nd period: Nevills choose bottom. Kroells with a chop and trying to get the cross wrist but Nevills staying on his feet with hands on the mat. Nevills out in 30 seconds and leading 1-0. Takedown Nevills and a restart with 47 seconds to go but blood time now. Nevills so close to backs as Kroells is fighting hard. Kroells trying to go leg pass. Coaches warning against Luke Becker.
3rd period: Kroells on bottom and Nevills works over 2 minutes of riding time. Nevills working a bar but potentially dangerous. Slight upset but the fifth win for Penn State gives them a 27-3 as Nevills wins 3-0.
2nd period: Staring second with Suriano on bottom, Lizak was very impressive on top at the Scuffle. Stalemate 28 seconds in with Suriano flat on his stomach. Caution against Suriano, the firs against the Penn State freshman. Suriano up on his feet and tries to granby. Catches Lizak's boot and goes to his feet as they continue to struggle, riding time under 40. Fans wanted swipes but a stalemate with 45 to go. Lizak trying to ride out the period and the fans clamor for stalling, which they do get at the 25 second mark. No backs but Lizak rides out the period.
3rd period: Neutral in the 3rd and Lizak has 24 of riding. Suriano winning the match on his feet and takes an 8-2 lead. Lizak working for an escape as we hit a minute to go and gets it. 8-5 now. 55.4 seconds left, Eggum wants to chat. Lizak on top. Another stall agains Suriano to make it 8-6. Able to ride out the period but doesn't get riding time. 8-6 win for Suriano to make it 30-3 in favor of the visitors.
2nd period: Mckee starts on bottom. Mckee trying a switch but Carpenter shutting down the hips. 51 seconds in and a stalemate. Carpenter still riding the true freshman Mckee after a minute. Stalemate at 35.4 to go. Mckee ridden out.
3rd period: Carpenter takes top with 27 seconds of riding time for Mckee. Carpenter has completely negated Mckee's riding time and is keeping his hips glued. Carpenter unable to turn but has Mckee completely flat on his stomach and starting to look frustrated. Mckee hit for stalling with 15 to go but still wins 2-1 as Carpenter ends with 1:26 of riding time. Mckee wins to make it 30-6 with one match left.
2nd period: Gulibon starts on bottom. Thorn continuing to ride and over a minute of riding time. No swipes as the Gopher is riding tough, still trailing 3-2. Gulibon out in the final 30 seconds as Thorn has 1:41 of riding time.
3rd period: Thorn on bottom trailing by 2 and Gulibon starts out pinching Thorn's ankle. Gulibon clears 30 seconds of riding time and Thorn catches the foot and is out. Effectively tied with riding time. Gulibon awarded 2, 6-3 lead. Didn't have the far leg but Thorn was on his butt and fighting backwards. Restart with 30 to go. That's a wrap as No. 4 Penn State beats No. 13 Minnesota on the road 33-6, and wins 8 of the 10 bouts.

1st period: Retherford with a low double early to take the 2-0 lead just 30 seconds in. That was fast. Zain throws a half and gets the pin in 32 seconds, 6-0 Nittany Lions right off the bat.157 - No. 1 Jason Nolf (PSU) vs No. 11 Jake Short (Minnesota)
1st period: Nolf playing catch and release early. Takedown in the first 10 seconds then a restart. Last year's NCAA runner-up with three takedowns already and up 6-2.
