All-American Jake Woodley Enters Transfer Portal

After not competing the first half of the wrestling season, All-American Jake Woodley entered the transfer portal on December 13th. Woodley has spent this summer and fall training at Orange Country RTC and helping coach at Fountain Valley High School in California. This comes after five years wrestling for the Oklahoma Sooners.

Woodley is a 4X national qualifier, notching a 6th-place finish in 2021 and making the blood round last season. With four years of starting at Oklahoma experience under his belt, Woodley has beaten some of the best wrestlers the weight has to offer, including current #1 ranked Rocky Elam of Missouri. The Pittsburgh native also has wins over Yonger Bastida, Michael Beard, Stephen Buchanan, and Noah Adams in his career.

Woodley has one year of eligibility remaining.

Already since the start of the season, Oklahoma has picked up two wrestlers in the transfer portal and had two wrestlers enter the transfer portal. Woodley's announcement comes two weeks after 2X All-American Stephen Buchanan announced he would be transferring from Wyoming to Oklahoma. Keegan Moore, another transfer, has been starting at 197 for the Sooners so far this year. You can see the entire list of transfer portal activity HERE.
