The 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships are in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Here's what to know about college wrestling's biggest tournament.
The NCAA Wrestling Championships are heading back to Oklahoma in 2023.
For the 12th time, the Division I NCAA Wrestling Championship will take place in Oklahoma, home of one the most famous college wrestling programs in the sport’s history, Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are the official host of 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships, which are in Tulsa.
Penn State will enter the tournament looking for another NCAA championship under coach Cael Sanderson.
But the focus will likely be on a pair of individuals in Iowa star Spencer Lee (125 pounds) and Yianni Diakomihalis (149 pounds) of Cornell. They are both vying to become four-time champions in their weight class.

When is the NCAA Wrestling Championships?
The event takes place from March 16-18 in Tulsa at the BOK Center.
How many wrestlers compete at the NCAA wrestling tournament?
The tournament features 330 wrestlers competing across 10 weight classes, or 33 wrestlers per weight class. Wrestlers competing for championships in their weight class can accumulate points for their teams which determine the team champions.

How do wrestlers score points for their team at the NCAA Wrestling Championship 2023?
There are three ways: Placement points, advancement points and bonus points.
Placement points are points given to teams based on where an individual finishes in his weight class. If a wrestler wins his weight class, he earns 16 points for his team.
Here's the breakdown:
- 1st place: 16 points
- 2nd place: 12 points
- 3rd place: 10 points
- 4th place: 9 points
- 5th place: 7 points
- 6th place: 6 points
- 7th place: 4 points
- 8th place: 3 points
Advancement points are points earned by a wrestler winning their match. A championship bracket win is equal to one point. A consolation bracket win is worth .5 point.
Here are how bonus points are awarded:
- Each fall, forfeit, default, disqualification: 2 points
- Each tech fall (w/ near fall points): 1.5 points
- Each tech fall (w/o near fall points): 1 point
- Each major decision: 1 point

Available tickets via the BOK Center range from $36 to $80 for the first day, whole March 18 tickets for the final sessions range from $226 to $613. Third party tickets for the 6 p.m. session on March 18 are as low as $186.
