Josh Barr and Rocco Welsh are set to meet for the third time in a year at the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic.
Pittsburgh, PA – The country's two highest-ranked 170 lbs. seniors will face one another in the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Rocco Welsh will wrestle Josh Barr in the PA versus USA All-Star feature dual meet.
FloWrestling’s Pound-for-Pound top 30 high school wrestlers has Welsh, from Waynesburg, PA ranked #9, while Barr, from Davison, Michigan, is ranked #10.
In July, Barr defeated Welsh at Junior Nationals in what many considered the most thrilling match of the 2022 Fargo finals. It was Barr’s second Fargo title.

Welsh revenged the loss by defeating Barr in FloWrestling’s Who’s #1 in September.

Welsh captured two big championships in December winning the Iron Man and PowerAde Tournaments. He is on a mission to be a 4x PIAA state finalist and claim his second PIAA state championship after falling in the finals in 2020 and 2021.
Barr captured three tournament titles in December, The Grappler Gold Invitational, the Carnahan Memorial Invitational, and Brecksville Holiday Invitational Tournament and is pursuing his 3rd Michigan state title.
