USA Wrestling - There will be 13 2022 Senior World medalists who have committed to compete in the 2023 Pan American Senior Championships in Bueons Aires, Argentina, May 3-6.

According to the 2023 Pan American Championships Team Selection procedures, 2022 Senior World medalists had until April 2 to declare their participation.

The remaining weight classes on the Pan American Senior Team will be determined at the 2023 U.S. Open in Las Vegas, Nev., April 26-29. The U.S. Open champion at each of the remaining weight classes will be offered the berth on the Pan American Championships team.

The men’s freestyle team, which competes May 5-6, will feature seven 2022 Senior World medalists: World champions Kyle Dake (74 kg), Jordan Burroughs (79 kg), David Taylor (86 kg) and Kyle Snyder (97 kg) plus World silver medalists Thomas Gilman (57 kg), Yianni Diakomihalis (65 kg) and Zain Retherford (70 kg).

The men’s freestyle weight classes which will be determined at the U.S. Open are 61 kg, 92 kg and 125 kg.

The U.S. women’s Pan American team, which will compete May 4-5, has six 2022 World medalists on the roster: 2022 World champions Dom Parrish (53 kg) and Amit Elor (72 kg), World silver medalists Helen Maroulis (57 kg), and Kayla Miracle (62 kg) and World bronze medalists Sarah Hildebrandt (50 kg) and Mallory Velte (65 kg)

The women’s freestyle weight classes which will be determined at the U.S. Open are 55 kg, 59 kg, 68 kg and 76 kg.

The United States did not win any medals at the 2022 Senior World Championships in Greco-Roman, meaning all 10 Pan American Championships team members will be determined at the U.S. Senior Open. The Greco-Roman competition at the Pan American Championships will be May 3-4.

The Pan American Championships will be followed on May 7-8 with the first UWW Beach World Series event. The United States will field a team of men and women to compete in the event. The U.S. roster will be announced soon.

The Senior Pan American Championships and the Beach World Series – Buenos Aires will be broadcast live by FloWrestling. Buenos Aires time is one hour ahead of U.S. Eastern time zone.
