Daton Fix Withdraws From 2023 US Open Wrestling Championships
Daton Fix has withdrawn from the 2023 US Open Wrestling Championships.
Daton Fix took everyone by surprise yesterday (Wednesday) when he entered the US Open on the final day that registration was opened. However, this morning (Thursday), Fix took to Twitter to announce he won't be competing in Vegas.
I was really excited to get back on the mat at the US Open. Sadly, my body had other plans so I will not be competing due to illness. I want to thank all my coaches & support group. Trusting in God’s plan. I’ll be back.

Despite missing out on the US Open, Daton Fix will still be eligible to qualify for Final X but will have to win the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament taking place May 20-21. As a 2021 world team member, Fix is already qualified for the Challenge Tournament along with Seth Gross, Vito Arujau, and Nahshon Garrett at 61kg. We dove deep into the depth of the 61kg field in this article and it's important to remember the top 7 finishers at the US Open will qualify for the challenge tournament next month to compete for the last spot in Final X.
