Coach Tony Robie and the the Virginia Tech Wrestling team enter the 2023-2024 season with high expectations as the No.3-ranked team in the FloWrestling preseason rankings.

And it won’t take long to put that ranking to the test. 

Virginia Tech, led by the No. 11-ranked pound-for-pound wrestler and 2019  NCAA Champion at 165-pounds Mekhi Lewis, begins the season at the Southeast Open in Salem, Va. on Nov. 4. Virginia Tech then hosts No. 15-ranked Ohio State in a dual meet on Nov. 10. 

The Southeast Open, hosted by the Hokies, is streaming on FloWrestling and the FloSports app. 

Virginia Tech produced five All-American wrestlers in 2023, including Eddie Ventresca, Sam Latona, Caleb Henson, Bryce Andonian and Lewis (at 174 pounds). 

All of those All-Americans return for Virginia Tech, which begins the ACC schedule on Jan. 26 against North Carolina. They'll meet Virginia at the Commonwealth Clash on Feb. 2.

When is the 2024 ACC Wrestling Tournament? 

The ACC Championship is March 10 in Chapel Hill, N.C. North Carolina State won the ACC Championship in 2023 with Virginia Tech finishing second. Henson and Lewis won their weight classes at the meet. 

When is the 2024 NCAA Wrestling Tournament?

The NCAA Wrestling Championships are March 21- 23 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.
