Charges of sexual battery against AJ Ferrari have been dismissed after a 14-month legal dispute, according to the Oklahoma State Courts Network. Ferrari was charged on August 3, 2022, but was cleared of those charges on Friday.

AJ Ferrari was the 2021 NCAA champion at 197 lbs for Oklahoma State as a freshman. His 2021-22 sophomore season was cut short due to injuries that occurred from a serious car accident. Prior to his sexual battery charges, Ferrari was dismissed from the team at Oklahoma State in July of 2022.

Ferrari was not enrolled in classes and missed the 2022-23 NCAA season. The former NCAA champion has not announced whether he plans to compete in NCAA wrestling again.

In March, AJ's brother Anthony, committed to compete for the University of Iowa, and in May, his youngest brother, Angelo, committed to the Hawkeyes as well.
