Jordan Burroughs Dropping Down To 74 kg For Upcoming Kunayev Tournament
Jordan Burroughs will be competing at 74 kg sooner than many predicted.
Per Justin Basch, Jordan Burroughs will be competing at 74 kg at the Kunayev Tournament in Taraz City, Kazakhstan on November 3rd and 4th.
The Final Season Begins! @alliseeisgold will be returning to action & wrestling in Kazakhstan on November 3rd at 74kg at the 'Kunayev D.A.' Tournament. This will be JB's first time at 74kg since the 2020 Olympic Trials in April 2021. pic.twitter.com/jCnT8CBuBN

This tournament has a two-kilogram allowance, so Burroughs won’t technically be competing at 74 kg, but it will be the lowest weight he has competed at since the 2021 Olympic Trials. Since falling to Kyle Dake in the Olympic Trials finals, Burroughs has competed at 79 kg. The descent back down in weight comes as Burroughs is gearing up for the 2024 Olympic Trials on April 19-20 where 79 kg is not a weight class.
It is unclear at this time what the streaming situation will be for this tournament. However, last year there was a free YouTube stream for the tournament. You can find the full schedule HERE.
