This episode follows the Ohio State Buckeyes and their strong freshman class to their first competition of the year, the Michigan State Open. At this event we focus in on Jesse Mendez, Nic Bouzakis, Luke Geog and Seth Shumate.

Mendez makes his way to the championship finals where he will face his first big test of the year when he is paired up against returning NCAA All-American Lucas Byrd from Illinois.

We get to know a little bit more about Nic Bouzakis and his little brother who passed away from cancer when Nic was younger. Whenever Bouzakis has a big win, he puts on his beanie hat with his brother's name, Greco Bouzakis, written across the front.

Two more freshman are set to collide when Luke Geog and Seth Shumate are lined up on opposite sides of the bracket. What will happen when these teammates meet in the championship finals and how could that impact this season and the rest of their college careers?
