125: #27 Braeden Davis, Penn State vs #17 Brandon Kaylor, Oregon State
Davis is taking the mat tonight for the Nittany Lions. This is Davis' 4th official start as a true freshman for Penn State so technically he can still redshirt. He'll have a great test here against 2022 All-American Brandon Kaylor.
Davis gets right in on a double leg early and secures the takedown just 30 seconds into the match. Davis is riding tough on top and almost secured near fall points with a cross-wrist tilt. Kaylor defends well and finally gets an escape after Davis accumulates 1:12 of riding time. 30 seconds left in the first and Davis hits another double from the outside for a takedown to take a 6-1 lead into the second.
Kaylor goes down to start the second but Davis continues to ride tough. Kaylor gets to his feet and earns another escape to make the score 6-2. Not a ton of urgency from either wrestler for the remainder of the second and it's 6-2 with Davis in the lead heading into the third period.
Davis goes down in the third and after a few suck-back attempts by Kaylor, Davis gets an escape with about 1:15 left to extend his lead to 7-2. And immediately Kaylor fires off another double from the outside and finishes to make it 10-2. Kaylor gets an escape with about 30 seconds left but Davis holds riding time so Kaylor needs a takedown. And he gets it! Davis looking tired but it's too little too late for Kaylor and Davis wins 11-6.

A lot of feeling out early and Nagao fires a quick low-single from the outside and a wild scramble ensues! I can't count how many times these guys have passed legs and they've been scrambling for over a minute. Potentially dangerous called and they'll get a fresh start with just over a minute to go in the first, score is still 0-0. Immediately Nagao gets back in on a finish and this time he finishes for the takedown. Nagao throws legs immediately and Whisenhunt almost catches his head for the reversal or possible fall but time runs out in the first with Nagao holding a 3-0 lead.
Nagao goes down to start the second and he earns a reveal to extend his lead to 5-0. Nagao goes back to riding tough with two legs in and this time he has Whisenhunt flattened out with his belly on the mat. Nagao isn't close to a turn but he rides out and holds almost 2 minutes of riding time going into the third.
Whisenhunt chooses neutral and dives in quick on a low-single but he isn't able to work for a takedown and it's stalemated. Whisenhunt takes an errant shot and Nagao runs behind quick for a takedown to make it 8-0. Nagao goes back to throwing legs and rides out for the 9-0 major decision win.

Neither Bartlett or Belton are showing any hint of urgency to get to their offense - we're 2 minutes in and haven't seen any shots yet. Both look pretty comfortable wrestling from space and seem to be waiting for their opponent to shoot first. But that doesn't happen - 0-0 at the end of the first.
Bartellt goes down and earns a quick escape. Now Barteltt first off a single-let and it looks like he finishes but they're taking a look at it to confirm the call. They don't look at it for long - 3 points confirmed and Bartlett holds a 4-0 lead with 1:30 to go in the second. Belton works hard for the escape and gets it to close the gap to 4-1.
Still 4-1 in the third - Belton goes down and earns a quick escape to make it 4-2. Bartlett gets an ankle pick but Belton hits a beautiful counter for a takedown to take the 5-4 lead. Bartlett escapes and we're tied at 5 with under a minute to go! Bartlett comes forward and takes a shot - Belton is called for stalling but it's still 5-5 at the end of the third and we're going to overtime.
Bartlett's coming forward to start overtime and you can tell Belton wants to work from space. Bartlett's pressure forces an errant shot from Belton and Bartlett almost gets to the leg but Belton is able to square up - still 0-0 with 40 seconds to go. Belton shoots a straight-on single and gets in deep but Bartlett sits the corner and finishes the takedown to avoid the upset - outstanding match from both wrestlers!

149: Tyler Kasak, Penn State vs #14 Nash Singleton, Oregon State
Similar to the last match - neither wrestler showing much urgency early in the bout. 0-0 to the end the first and I'm not sure if either Kasak or Singleton took a shot.
Kasak goes down to start the second and earns a quick escape to take the 1-0 lead. Similar to the first - not much going on and the score stays 1-0 heading into the third.
Singleton goes down in the third and he gets to his feet and earns an escape to even the score at 1-1 with 1:40 to go in the match. Kasak comes forward and Singleton gets dinged for stalling. Now, finally, with a minute to go Kasak gets in on a single-leg and Singleton looks to defend with a shin whizzer. Kasak is able to fight throw the whizzer, brings the leg to his feet and finishes for the takedown with about 30 second to go. Kasak rides out and takes the match - 4-0.

Haines comes forward early and gets in on a high-crotch - Haines almost finishes but Crosby hits an outstanding counter and gets the takedown - Crosby in the lead 3-0. Haines get an escape and it's 3-1. Just over a minute to go and crosby hits a low-single and finishes quick for another takedown to extend his lead to 6-1. Another quick escape to make it 6-2 and that's the score heading into the second.
Haines goes down to start the second and earns a quick escape - 6-3 now. Haines looks to hit a duck and Crosby counters with a single leg - he almost finishes but Haines is able to defend and the score remains 6-3 going into the third period.
Crosby goes down to start the third and earns an escape in just 15 seconds - 7-3 now. Haines with a lot of urgency and gets in on a shot, lifts and secures the takedown - 7-6 Crosby in the lead. Haines lets Crosby up and gets right back in on the leg and finishes - 9-8 Haines in the lead now. Haines rides hard on top and Crosby looks tired. Haines finishes and gets another point for riding time - Haines wins a wild one, 10-8.

Starocci keeps his foot on the gas and earns another takedown with a single. They go out of bounds and Starocci lets Wittlake up to make it 16-3 - Starocci needs a takedown for the tech. He fires off a head inside single now and finishes quickly again - Starocci wins 19-3.

Miunoz goes down to start the third period and escapes quickly to extend his lead to 4-2. Munoz also holds 1:12 of riding time so he's in the driver's seat here - Truax needs a takedown. Truax is coming forward but Munoz is holding position and defending well - they go out of bounds with 21 seconds left. Truax comes forward and Munoz gets hit for stalling but that's not enough - Munoz gets the first win of the night for Oregon State and gets Beaver crown on their feet.

Brooks goes down in the second and escapes to extend his lead to 7-1. Now it's Rademacher with the ankle pick but beautiful defense for Brooks and Rademacher is unable to finish. Brooks gets back to his underhook and blows through Rademacher for another takedown. Another escape for Rademacher and another takedown for Brooks. Brooks is really flowing now and finishes with a smooth outside step for a 19-4 tech fall with just a few seconds left in the second period.

Before the final match of the night, they announced the attendance - just over 8,500 and a sellout. That's a really incredible number and a sign of great health for Oregon State.

McDermott gets the escape and this time it's a low, swing-single for Kerkvliet and another takedown.
