Over 30 Upsets In Week 12 Of The D1 NCAA College Wrestling Season
All the upsets from week 12 of the NCAA D1 2023-24 college wrestling season.
Another week of NCAA D1 college wrestling brought another bevy of upsets.
The usual caveats apply, what looks like an upset according to the most recent rankings may not look like an upset by the time the season ends, or even by next week!

125: #15 Brandon Kaylor, Oregon State over #11 Troy Spratley, Oklahoma State F;4:47
These upsets were all by wrestlers separated by four or more spots on the rankings. These results will almost definitely cause changes in the rankings.
Upsets by Unranked Wrestlers
125: Max Gallagher, Penn over #7 Nico Provo, Stanford 11-8 SV
165: Chance McLane, Arizona State over #11 Holden Heller, Pittsburgh 4-1
285: Trevor Tinker, Cal Poly over #13 Boone McDermott, Oregon State F;4:48

133: Dyson Dunham, VMI over #27 Blake Boarman, Chattanooga 7-4
141: Jordan Soriano, Drexel over #29 Jason Miranda, Stanford F;1:45
285: Harley Andrews, Nebraska over #30 Bennett Tabor, Minnesota 10-7
157: Isaac Wilcox, Ohio State over #32 Michael North, Maryland 15-1
184: Nathan Haas, California Baptist over #32 Adam Cherne, North Dakota State 7-2
141: Blake Cushing, Nebraska over #32 Greyson Clark, Purdue 7-5
285: Lucas Cochran, Penn State over #33 Josh Terrill, Michigan State 5-0
Often this is just a starter who scores an upset win over a ranked wrestler. Other times it's because the unranked wrestler is in a roster battle and hasn't yet been ranked only because someone else on the team is in the rankings.
For instance, Oklahoma State's Jordan Williams is ranked #20 at 149. Should Samy Alvarez get the postseason nod he would likely be ranked.
Additionally, Nebraska's Harley Andews is splitting matches with Nash Hutmacher and Lucas Cochran is normally Penn State's backup 197-pounder.
Upsets by Small Margins
133: #6 Dylan Ragusin, Michigan over #4 Aaron Nagao, Penn State F;7:28 SV
285: #19 Cory Day, Binghamton over #17 Grady Griess, Navy 6-2
157: #27 Lucas Revano, Penn over #25 Max Brignola, Lehigh 8-6
165: #8 Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State over #7 Cameron Amine, Michigan 12-1
These results are barely upsets but they will still likely cause changes in the rankings.
Rocco's Win Wasn't An Upset But We're Including It Anyway
174: Rocco Welsh, Ohio State over #15 Max Maylor, Wisconsin 7-3
Carson Kharcla was ranked #5 but it looks like Rocco will be the starter going forward. Welsh is 12-1 on the season and his only loss is to #6 Edmond Ruth, so Welsh will almost definitely be ranked higher than Maylor when the new set of rankings is released.
