2024 NCAA Wrestling Championship Qualifiers By State
2024 NCAA Wrestling Championship Qualifiers By State
See how many wrestlers your state qualified for NCAAs!
The 330-man field is set for NCAAs, so let's take a look at some data.
And if you want even more content, such as qualifiers by team, the best wrestlers who didn't qualify for NCAAs, etc, you can find that HERE.
MAPS
First, an interactive heat map! (you might have to turn your phone sideways to get the full view)
A traditional heat map.
But we can't forget about the two non-contiguous states!
And lastly, we have our four international qualifiers.
Yonger Bastida (Trinidad) and Anthony Echemendia (Cabaiguan) are from Cuba.
Lachlan McNei is from Toronto, Canada.
And Yaraslau Slavikouski is from Rechitsa, Belarus.
Per Capita
Obviously, no state debate is complete without a per capita argument! Populations are from 2023 and statsamerica.org.
Let's go further. Here is number of qualifiers per high school participant. Numbers are taken from 2019 and NHFS.org.
Points Per State Based On Seeds
I don't know how to make cool charts but thankfully I have friends at Flo that do and they hooked me up with this excellent chart showing how my points wrestlers from each state would score at NCAAs if they wrestled to their seed (not accounting for bonus points).
My super cool and talented friends were also able to hook me up with a similar chart, only this time adjusting per capita of each state (and three countries).
Hometowns
Here is what I have for wrestler's hometowns. These are taken from their official team roster, so if you don't like it, take it up with them!
