Saldate's Fit At Michigan
With two-time All-American Will Lewan graduating this year for the Wolverines, Saldate should slide in perfectly at 157 pounds for the 2024-25 season. Saldate's entrance into the lineup will also allow for Michigan's top recruits Brock Mantanona and Cam Catrabone to redshirt next year before contending for starting spots in the 2025-26 season.
As mentioned, Saldate hasn't yet earned All-American honors but has been a contender for the past four years at 157 pounds. In fact, in the 2023 season, Saldate defeated the aforementioned Will Lewan and fell one win shy of reaching the podium at the 2023 National Tournament. This year, Saldate notably had a razor-thin, 7-5 (TB-2) overtime loss to 157-pound national champion Levi Haines.

Saldate will be a welcomed addition in Ann Arbor and should help the Wolverines contender for another trophy at the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
