New York native Donnie Vinson has been named as the new head coach of the Buffalo Bulls. Vinson won't have to travel too far to get to his new gig as he'll travel from Ithaca, NY, just a few hours east of Buffalo where he was the associate head coach at Cornell University for the last three seasons.

Vinson was an All-American at Binghamton University (also located in New York), where he qualified for the NCAA Championships four times and finished his career with a 132-27 record.

Vinson began his coaching career at his alma mater soon after graduating, serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Binghamton throughout the 2013-14 season. He then slid over to Ithaca for his first stint at Cornell, also as a volunteer assistant coach, from 2014 to 2017.

His next stop was Raleigh, NC, where he would be reunited with his undergraduate coach, Pat Popolizio, at NC State from 2017 to 2021. Vinson would then return to the Empire State for another stint at Cornell, this time as an associate head coach.

Vinson replaces John Stutzman, who had been at the helm of the Bulls wrestling program for the past 11 years. The Bulls qualified 29 wrestled for the NCAAs over those seasons,
