Canada selected its freestyle U23 and Senior World teams during a tournament held in Calgary, Alberta, on May 25-26. The under-23 division included all 10 weight classes for men’s and women’s freestyle and the Senior division included the four World weights not contested at the Olympics. 

Lachlan McNeil, a two-time All-American for North Carolina, made the U23 World team at 65 kg with three straight shutout techs. 

Simon Fraser, an NCAA Division II program in Burnaby, British Columbia, had two wrestlers win the tournament. Victoria Seal made the U23 Team and Karla Godinez Gonzalez made the Senior team, both at 55 kilograms. 

The U23 World Championships are October 21-27 and the Senior World Championships for Non-Olympic weights are October 28-31, both in Tirana, Albania.
