Top prospect Bo Bassett released an update to his school recruiting list.

Top prospect Bo Bassett, an unconventional talent in the sport of wrestling, is likewise handling his recruiting process in an unconventional manner. 

When the Johnstown, Pennsylvania native released his first school list, it had 80 programs, rather than a more conventional number of say, five or even ten. 

Bassett, a 2021 U17 gold medalist and 2024 U20 world team member at 65kg, has consistently said that he wants to keep his options open during the process and give every school interested in recruiting him as much consideration as possible.

As Bassett narrows his school list, we'll keep track of the programs that come off the board. Follow the updates here.

July 3 Update

Bo stated that the process gets 'harder and harder' each week. His latest update removed seven more schools. 

There are 59 schools remaining under consideration. 

The seven schools that were removed are the following: 

  • Appalachian State
  • Central Michigan
  • Cleveland State
  • Drexel
  • Kent State
  • Ohio
  • Saint Cloud State

June  26 Update

In the second installment of Bassett's recruiting update, he posted the following:

The seven schools that were removed from Bassett's list:

  • Binghamton
  • Bloomsburg
  • Duke
  • Gardner Webb
  • Northern Illinois
  • Sacred Heart
  • SIUE

June 19 Update

Today, the Bishop McCort Catholic High School rising junior has narrowed his school list down to a mere 73 programs. 

The seven schools that were removed from Bassett's list:

  • Long Island
  • Buffalo
  • Franklin & Marshall
  • Utah Valley
  • VMI
  • Presbyterian
  • Davidson

On his Instagram, Bassett mentioned that he will be narrowing his college list every Wednesday. Stay tuned for updates!
