Tamyra Mensah-Stock Makes WWE Debut On NXT's Level Up
Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock made her professional wrestling television debut under her new ring name, Tyra Mae Steele.
Tamrya Mensah-Stock was winning a gold medal for her country during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Today, she is wrestling professionally under a ring name.
Tyra Mae Steele (Tamyra Mensah-Stock) wore her Olympic gold medal during a promotional interview before her match against Wren Sinclair on WWE's Level Up in Orlando, Florida. She gave away a replica gold medal to a fan during her entrance to the ring.
TMS worked a headlock and hit classic freestyle wrestling moves, including a fireman's carry. She eventually lost her television debut by fall on a reversal before slapping hands with Sinclair.
Mensah-Stock, 31, is WWE's first-ever female Olympic gold medalist and the first black wrestler to win an Olympic gold medal in women's freestyle. She won Senior World titles in 2019 and 2022, and WCWA championships for Wayland Baptist in 2014 and 2017.
Hear from Mensah-Stock after her final competitive freestyle wrestling match.
