Zao Estrado Commits To William Penn Following Fargo Title

Zao Estrada had a memorable weekend in Fargo, North Dakota. The Hilton Head (SC) High School product dominated her way through the 115-pound Junior bracket and then announced that she would attend William Penn in the fall.

The Statesmen finished fourth at the 2024 NAIA Championships with three individual champions — the most of any team.

Estrada is currently ranked #20 in the pound-for-pound rankings and #2 at 120 pounds. She remained one of the top high school seniors who had not committed. Now she’s off the board and headed to Oskaloosa, Iowa.

"William Penn was an easy choice for me," Estrada said. "They brought me out on the visit and it felt like home. They continued to communicate with me without any pressure and even encouraged me to go on other visits to make sure.

"The partners I will have and the way they welcomed me and my family into their community make the final choice one of peace. I'm glad I'm going to William Penn and place to win the national title next year."
