Medal Matches
MFS 65 kg Bronze - Sebastian Rivera (Puerto Rico) over Tulga Tumur-Ochir (Mongolia), 10-9
First period: Tumur-Ochir hits an arm spin and Rivera holds on to the head but is still scoreless after the action stalemated. Tumur-Ochir scores a step-out point with 1:34 left. Rivera placed on the activity clock and Tumur-Ochir scores a takedown and gets the penalty point for a 4-0 lead.
Second period: Rivera scores on a snatch single then hits three trapped-arm guts for an 8-4 lead then Tumur-Ochir hits a four-point move for an 8-8 criteria lead in the first 55 seconds. Tumur-Ochir scores on a step-out with 1:18 left for a 9-8 lead. Rivera nearly scores at the buzzer but Tumur-Ochir holds on. Puerto Rico challenges that there were three points of contact. Challenge won. Rivera wins the bronze, 10-9.
MFS 65 kg Bronze - Islam Dudaev (Albania) over Ismail Musukaev (Hungary), 13-12
First period: Dudaev hits a beautiful four-point Metzger and a two-point exposure out of bounds for a 6-0 lead with 1:32 left. Musukaev hits a misdirection for two with 1:02 left. Albania challenges the sequence. Challenge won. Dudaev scores two and Musukaev scores four in the exchange for an 8-4 Dudaev lead. Musukaev scores a takedown out of the challenge, cutting Dudaev's lead to 8-6 at the break. Musukaev hits four on a front headlock for a 12-12 criteria lead. Dudaev comes out on top for an apparent reversal out of bounds but it wasn't called but the call is challenged by Albania. Challenge won. Dudaev leads 13-12 and eventually wins after Musukaev attempts a takedown in the closing seconds.
Second period: Dudaev steps over on a shot for two then scores two more on a leg lace for a 12-6 lead with 1:51 left. Musukaev counters with a low shot and a takedown. Dudaev leads 12-8 with 1:14 seconds left. Musukaev scores a four-point throw but Dudaev given a reversal out of bounds after a challenge for a 13-12 win.
MFS 65 kg Gold - Kotaro Kiyooka (Japan) over Rahman Amouzadkhalili (Iran), 10-3
First period: Amouzadkhalili scores on a step-out for a 1-0 lead. Kiyooka scores a takedown and four turns for a 10-1 lead as time expires.
Second period: Amouzadkhalili scores two on an exposure but Kiyooka still leads, 10-3. Amouzadkhalili concedes with 10 seconds left. Kiyooka wins the gold, 10-3.
MFS 97 kg Bronze - Magomedkhan Magomedov (Azerbaijan) tech Murazi Mchedlidze (Ukraine), 10-0
First period: Magomedov scores two on a double out of bounds then picks up an additional point on an activity clock violation for a 3-0 lead with a minute to go. Magomedov scores another two-point takedown for a 5-0 lead at the break.
Second period: Magomedov scores on a step-out with 2:17 left for a 6-0 lead. Two more on a go-behind out of bounds makes it 8-0. Magomedov finishes it off with another takedown and a 10-0 win.
MFS 97 kg Bronze - Amirali Azarpira (Iran) over Kyle Snyder (United States), 4-1
First period: Azarpira counters a shot by Snyder for a 2-0 lead with 1:50 left. No scoring for the remainder of the period. Azarpira leads 2-0 at the break.
Second period: Azarpira is placed on the activity clock and Snyder scores his first point when it expires but Azarpira scores on a step-out for a 3-1 lead. Stalemate called on a low-level shot by Snyder with 40 seconds left. Another point for Azarpira on a step-out with 31 seconds left. Azarpira holds on for a 4-1 win and the bronze medal.
MFS 97 kg Gold - Akhmed Tazhudinov (Bahrain) FALL Givi Matcharashvili (Georgia), 1:32
First period: Tazhudinov counters a shot and wins by fall in 1:32.
WFS 76 kg Bronze - Milaimys Marin (Cuba) over Aiperi Medet Kyzy (Kyrgyzstan), 6-0
First period: Marin hits a double and scores the first two points. Marin secures a second takedown off of a single for a 4-0 lead with 1:45 left.
Second period: Marin uses counter offense for a third takedown and a 6-0 lead.
WFS 76 kg Bronze - Tatiana Renteria (Colombia) over Genesis Reasco (Ecuador), 2-1
First period: Reasco placed on the activity clock with 1:43 left. Renteria scores the first point when the clock expires.
Second period: Reasco goes on the activity clock again and scores a second point when it expires. Renteria goes on the activity clock, giving Reasco her first point when it expires. Renteria wins 2-1, all on activity clock points.
