Grade: Freshman

Club: Rough House Wrestling

Instagram: @sammy_sanchez08

What you need to know: The youngest and smallest member of the U17 Men’s Freestyle World Team, Sammy Sanchez hasn’t even started high school yet. That doesn’t mean expectations won’t be high, however. You have to go back to 2018 to find the last time the US didn’t bring home a medal at 45 kg, and three of the four medals have been gold (2022 - Dom Munaretto, 2021 - Bo Bassett, 2019 - Marc Anthony McGowan).

Championship Series: Sam Sanchez over Sean Kenny 2-0

Match 1: W pin 3:27

Match 2: W 8-2

48 kg: Henry Aslikyan

Hometown: Panorama City, California

High School: Birmingham CC

Grade: Junior

Instagram: @henryaslikyan

What you need to know: Although Henry Aslikyan made the U17 Greco World Team last year and the U15 Pan Am Team in both styles the year before that, this is his first age-level freestyle World Team. He was a California state champion at 106 lbs this year for Birmingham.

Championship Series: Henry Aslikyan over Turner Ross 2-0

What you need to know: The most internationally credentialled roster member, Dom Muinaretto will be looking to earn his 2nd U17 World freestyle title after taking gold at 45 kg in 2022. Currently ranked #1 in the country at 113 lbs, he also made the Greco World Team.

Championship Series: Domenic Munaretto over Alex Rozas 2-0

Match 1: W 3-1

Match 2: W 5-0

55 kg: Keanu Dillard

What you need to know: Currently ranked #23 on the 2026 Big Board, Keanu Dillard is already a 2X Pennsylvania state champion and one of the top lightweight prospects in the country.

Championship Series: Keanu Dillard over Slater Hicks 2-0

Match 1: W 6-0

60 kg: Jordyn Raney

Hometown: Sturgis, Kentucky

Grade: Sophomore

What you need to know: One of three wrestlers to make both the freestyle and Greco U17 World Teams, Jordyn Raney hails from the nontraditional wrestling area of western Kentucky. His hometown has a population of just 1,898. That didn’t stop Jordyn and his twin brother Jayden from becoming two of the best prospects in the class of 2026 (Jordyn #4 & Jayden #7). While Jayden made the Greco-World Team at 55 kg, he moved up for freestyle and lost to Jordyn in the finals.

Championship Series: Jordyn Raney over Jayden Raney 2-0

Match 1: W 11-8

Match 2: W 16-7

65 kg: Nate Askew

Hometown: Fayetteville, North Carolina

High School: Baylor

Grade: Senior

Club: Tar Heel WC

Instagram: @askew.nate

What you need to know: A native of North Carolina, Nate Askew currently attends Baylor High School in Tennessee but will be returning to his home state for college next year as a Tar Heel. This will be the high school senior’s first time representing the US overseas.

Championship Series: Nate Askew over Kellen Wolbert 2-0

Match 1: W 4-3

Match 2: W 9-0

71 kg: Melvin Miller

Hometown: Windber, Pennsylvania

High School: Bishop McCourt

Grade: Sophomore

Club: Bishop McCort

Instagram: @melvin_miller07

What you need to know: Part of the Bishop McCourt crew that includes 2021 U17 World champion Bo Bassett, Melvin Miller is poised to make a good run in Jordan. After making the U17 World Team, he went on a great run to go undefeated at both 16U Duals and Fargo catapulting him up to #2 in the country at 157 lbs. He is one of the brightest young stars in the country.

Championship Series: Melvin Miller over Kyler Knaack 2-0

Match 2: 10-0

He will be following in his brother’s footsteps and attending Cornell as well.
