Ohio State enters the 2024-25 season with six returning All-Americans and 11 national qualifiers. The Buckeyes finished eighth at the 2024 NCAA Championships. 

Returning All-Americans are Jesse Mendez (141), Dylan D’Emilo (149), Sammy Sasso (165), Rocco Welsh (174), Carson Kharchla (174), and Nick Feldman (285). 

Mendez won the 2024 NCAA Championships and is the team’s lone returning national champion.

Karchla is a two-time national qualifier and seventh-place finisher at the 2022 NCAA Championships. He missed the last half of the 2024 season and could return at 165, 174, or 184 this year depending on need and what wrestlers redshirt. 

Sasso finished second, fifth, and second at the NCAA Championships from 2021 through 2023. He was the expected starter at 157 pounds last season but required extensive surgeries after he was shot during a carjacking on August 18, 2023. The Nazareth, Pennsylvania, native could wrestle at 157 or 165 this season.

True freshmen can use five competition dates as a starter without losing their redshirt.
