Super 32 week is one of the most highly anticipated weeks on the entire high school wrestling calendar. This year's Super 32 boys high school field includes nearly 200 nationally ranked wrestlers who will compete for Super 32 belts.
Below is a preview that includes seeds, national rankings where relevant, and predictions for top eight finishers in all 14 weight classes.
As entries change, we'll do our best to update this preview. Super 32 seeds are done by Willie Saylor and can be found on his site.

The top two seeds at 106 lbs are U17 World champ Sammy Sanchez and 2024 Fargo champ Hayden Schwab. Sanchez is just entering his freshman year, but his international credentials over the summer have earned him the top seed. While Sanchez was winning his U17 freestyle title, Schwab was competing in the Greco-Roman division. Now, they’re slated to meet in the finals if each can run the gauntlet.
Sanchez is seeded to face either Fargo 3rd place finisher Jarrett Smith or 5th placer Loc Webber in the quarterfinals if he can get past either Fargo 8th place finisher Jojo Burke or #7 ranked Anthony Mason in the round of 16. His potential semifinal opponents include another Fargo 3rd placer, 4th seeded Turner Ross, and #5 ranked Brayden Wenrich.
Schwab’s side of the bracket isn’t much easier. If seeds hold, he’ll need to get past Fargo champ Keegan Bassett in the quarterfinals before a potential showdown with either #20 Justin Farnsworth or #6 Caleb Noble in the semis.
This bracket includes 9 nationally ranked wrestlers who are sprinkled throughout the seeds. In fact, #16 Charles Esposito and #17 Cason Craft are seeded 22nd and 23rd respectively! Expect high seeded wrestlers to fall early at this weight.

The top two ranked 113-pounders in the country, Ignacio Villasenor and Dom Munaretto just met at Who’s Number One with Villasenor notching the upset over two-time U17 World champ Munaretto. They’ll look to navigate brutal paths at this weight in order to set up a rematch in the finals.

A total of 13 nationally ranked wrestlers litter the field including 8 of the top 10. For Villasenor to reach the finals, he’ll need to get through either #17 Max Tancini or Fargo placer Oumar Tounkara in the round of 16 followed by either #11 Alex Rozas or #12 Killian Coluccio in the quarterfinals, and either #7 Revin Dickman or U17 World finalist Fred Bachmann in the semis. Despite his lack of a ranking, Bachmann may present the biggest challenge to Villasenor of this group. He’s just a freshman, and he didn’t compete in the USA Wrestling freestyle circuit this spring because he represents Puerto Rico, but make no mistake, he’ll make a serious run at the #1 ranking in Greensboro.
On the bottom half of the bracket, Munaretto could have Fargo placer Jovanni Tovar in the round of 16, either Fargo champ #6 Dunia Sibomana or #5 Johnathon McGinty in the quarters, and either #4 Cameron Sontz or #9 Bradley Patterson in the semis. Many of these are unfamiliar opponents for Munaretto which may give him an advantage as it seems that his power can uniquely overwhelm first-time opponents.
Don’t be surprised to see guys like #10 Ayden Dodd, #13 Austin Bickerton, or #18 Peyton Schoettle upset higher seeded opponents on day 1 of this tournament. All the tough lightweights here are sure to create plenty of chaos to reset the rankings.

There can’t be many times in Super 32 history that two high school teammates were seeded in the top three, but that’s what we have here. Faith Christian’s #5 Joe Bachmann (a 2x U17 World medalist) holds the top seed while #2 Gauge Botero sits at the #3 seed. It could be a wrestle off in the finals if Botero can get past Bethlehem Catholic’s Keanu Dillard (who finished bronze in Bachmann’s U17 World bracket this summer) in their potential semifinal. A whole lot would have to happen before that, though.
Bachmann’s path to the finals is likely to run through U17 WTT placer Titan Friederichs or #12 Rocco Cassioppi in the round of 16, #7 Grey Burnett or #9 Landon Sidun in the quarters, and #4 Christian Castillo or #6 Joseph Uhorchuk in the semis. Those aren’t the only top-ten opponents on the top side of the bracket, either. #8 Antonio Mills holds down the 12 seed, so he could spoil the potential quarterfinal between Castillo and Uhorchuk.
The bottom half of the bracket is also loaded. Iowa state champ Jake Knight and Ohio State champ Adam Mattin could meet in the round of 32. Potential round of 16 bouts include #3 Nathan Carrillo vs #10 Brock Rothermel, #2 Botero vs #11 Matt O’Neill, #7 Slater Hicks vs #11 Nicholas Garcia, and #4 Dillard vs the winner of Mattin and Knight. The action will get crazier from there. In total, the field at 120 lbs includes 18 nationally ranked wrestlers with a whole lot of parity, so the teammate battle between Bachmann and Botero could happen in the consolations just as easily as the finals.

It’s hard to ignore a potential finals rematch between #1 Anthony Knox and #3 Aaron Seidel, especially considering how exciting their most recent meeting was. Seidel held a 1-0 lead and riding time advantage in the third until Knox secured a takedown with 12 seconds left. Now, both wrestlers will have to run a gauntlet that includes 17 ranked wrestlers. These two have the advantage of having won this tournament before. Seidel was the champ at 113 lbs a year ago while Knox has two Super 32 belts including an all-bonus-point performance at 120 lbs last time.

Knox’s half of the bracket includes #5 Nate Desmond who he defeated in last year’s final, #10 Moses Mendoza, #18 Dominic Deputy, #6 Antonio Rodriguez, #8 Sebastian Degennaro, #10 Stephen Myers, #9 Caio Aron, and #16 Deven Casey. Seidel’s half has #4 Ronnie Ramirez, #14 Lincoln Sledzianowski, #11 Gavin Jendreas, #14 Paul Kenny, #18 Greyson Music, #19 Greyson Uhorchuk, and #20 Nico Fanella. That’s a whole lot of contenders for each of the top two seeds.
Anthony Knox is currently undefeated against this stacked field. Seidel’s only losses to competitors in this bracket besides Knox (that I could find) have come at the hands of Christian Castillo in the 2022 Super 32 finals and Nate Desmond in the 2023 Northeast Regional. He’s also beaten Desmond since that time.

Yet another Who’s Number One rematch could materialize in the finals at 132 lbs. #2 Jax Forrest and #3 Seth Mendoza just squared off for the fourth time in a year in Johnstown, but they could bring their match tally to 5 in Greensboro. If it happens, Forrest will look to improve to 4-1 in the series while Mendoza will attempt to make it 3-2.

Forrest could see #19 Layne Kleiman in the round of 16 followed by either U17 WTT placer Dean Anderson or #11 Manuel Saldate in the quarterfinals and either #5 Isaiah Cortez or #13 Adrian DeJesus in the semis. Cortez may present the toughest test out of that group.
Mendoza’s path could include #20 Trey Wagner in the round of 16, #13 Billy Townson or Fargo finalist Ashton Besmer in the quarterfinals, and #7 Jake Hockaday or #16 Anthony Mutarelli in the semis. Mendoza and Hockaday have met in competitive matches at both Fargo and the Elite 8 Duals over the past few months. While this weight has plenty of wrestlers poised to play spoiler, we’re most likely to see Mendoza vs Forrest V on Sunday.

Sergio Vega has looked nearly unstoppable in the last few months. He ran through a tough Fargo bracket in July then beat his Fargo finals opponent, Drew Gorman, again at Who’s Number One. Now he’ll look to take home a Super 32 belt from a bracket with 16 nationally ranked wrestlers which could mean he’ll need to beat Gorman for a third time. The task is tall, but Vega appears to be on a mission after finishing as runner up in Greensboro a year ago.

Vega’s path through the bracket is tough. Either #16 Jayce Paridon and #17 Tyler Traves appear to be his most likely round of 16 opponents. Potential quarterfinalists on the top of the bracket include #8 Dalton Perry and #10 Gunner Andrick, and potential semifinalists include #9 Elijah Cortez and #20 Tahir Parkins. Vega hasn’t competed against that group much in the past. His unorthodox style will be an advantage for him against a relatively fresh group of opponents.
The bottom half of the bracket, where Gorman sits, includes #6 Sam Herring, #15 Bradt Harer, #11 Jesse Grajeda, #15 Eren Sement, and #14 Charlie DeSena. Gorman will have his hands full if he wants another crack at Vega, but he’s certainly had the most consistent results of this group over the years. Gorman’s quarterfinal is particularly interesting. His likely opponents are either Eren Sement or Jesse Grajeda. At Elite 8 Duals, Grajeda beat his likely round of 16 opponent Eren Sement and also knocked off Gorman. That was Grajeda’s second victory over Gorman which brought their series to 2-1.

At the conclusion of #1 Bo Bassett’s 12-6 decision over #2 Daniel Zepeda at Who’s Number One, Zepeda stared directly into the camera and intently said, “one more.” The two-time California state champ had just fallen to Bassett in the most highly anticipated rematch in Who’s Number One history, and he was already thinking about their next potential meeting. That’s a feeling Bassett is familiar with as well. After Zepeda pinned him in the 2023 edition of Who’s Number One, Bassett trained with Zepeda in mind and put together one of the most impressive seasons in high school history. Now, it looks like we just might get a Bassett vs Zepeda rubber match in the Super 32 finals if these two can wrestle to their top-two seeds.

Before this rematch can be possible, both Bassett and Zepeda will need to navigate challenging courses through the bracket. Bassett could see #17 Dominic Wilson in the round of 16, #5 Nathanial Askew in the quarterfinals, and either #4 Noah Nininger or #5 Logan Paradice in the semis. Bassett hasn’t lost a match to a high school opponent in over a year despite his insanely tough schedule, so he’s one of the safest picks to make the finals in this entire tournament.
Zepeda could see either #15 Blase Mele or #20 Michael Turi in the round of 16, either #6 Nikade Zinkin or #11 Noah Bull in the quarterfinals, and either #3 Dorian Olivarez or #12 Joe Toscano in the semis. It would be fascinating to see Zepeda face California state finalist Toscano and champion Zinkin in back to back rounds, especially considering that they’ve trained together recently, but Olivarez is the highest ranked opponent on Zepeda’s side. Zepeda beat #3 Olivarez at Elite 8 Duals last month, and like Bassett, he’s a favorite to make the finals.

The bracket at 150 lbs has no shortage of title contenders. Last year’s champ at 138 lbs, Maddox Shaw, holds the second seed behind Landon Robideau who beat him in the Fargo semifinals. Robideau followed up his 150 lbs Fargo title with a 157 lbs victory over Melvin Miller at Who’s Number One. The third seed is Sonny Amato who won titles at the New Jersey State Championships and NHSCAs as a freshman. Collin Gaj is fresh off an appearance at Who’s Number One, and he sits in the #4 seed.

Michigan commit Cooper Hilton hasn’t competed much over the past year, but he holds victories over many high-level opponents including #1 ranked 138-pounder Sergio Vega and #2 ranked 132-pounder Jax Forrest. NC State commit Will Denny is also formidable. He was 5th here a year ago and is coming off an undefeated fall at the Elite 8 Duals and Grappler Fall Classic. Lehigh commit Chase Van Hoven sits in the #7 seed where he’s predicted to face Maddox Shaw in the quarterfinals. Van Hoven beat Shaw last fall at the Columbus Day Duals and has been on a hot streak this fall with undefeated performances at Journeymen and Elite 8 Duals.
The top seven seeds are they only guys in the bracket who could do damage. There are a total of 17 nationally ranked wrestlers in this field including #9 Zeno Moore, #10 (144) Beau Hickman, #10 Blake Cosby, #11 Anthony Evanitsky, #14 Hunter Sturgill, #15 Zach Ballante, #17 Ryan Lawler, and #19 David Gleason. Robideau is a favorite to win his first Super 32 title, but fans should be prepared for anything to happen at 150 lbs.

Melvin Miller holds the top seed at 157 lbs, and he’s looking for a second Super 32 title in as many attempts. This is the event where he burst on the high school scene last year as a freshman. He can cement himself as one of the top middle weights this year with a second belt.
Miller appears to have a relatively clear path to the quarterfinals where he’s seeded to face either #10 Benjamin Weader or New Jersey’s Joey Canova. His potential semifinal opponents include #9 Vince Bouzakis and #5 Leo Contino. Miller and Bouzakis appeared to be on a collision course in Fargo this summer, but that was derailed when Bouzakis injury defaulted to 6th place after his victory over Canova in the quarters. Of that group, Miller has only faced Weader, who he beat at Powerade last winter. Bouzakis and Miller are the favorites to reach the semi.
The bottom half of the bracket has plenty of intrigue. #4 Kollin Rath and #6 Kody Routledge could be on pace for a highly ranked semifinal that would be a rematch of the 2022 Fargo final that Routledge won. Rath’s biggest obstacle before the semis appears to be #7 Brogan Tucker who he recently beat at the Elite 8 Duals. Tucker has shown the ability to flip results over high level opponents as he defeated Vince Bouzakis at Elite 8 Duals despite having lost to him this summer at Junior Duals. Routledge’s toughest opponent before the semis is likely to be either Wisconsin’s #8 Jacob Herm or Pennsylvania’s #15 Reagan Milheim. Herm recently moved up the rankings a few spots after knocking off Bouzakis at Elite 8 Duals. With a total of 12 ranked wrestlers and plenty more just outside the top-20, this bracket is sure to shake up the rankings.

Asher Cunningham holds down the second seed in this weight. He was third at Ironman a year ago and won Powerade with a victory over Fargo champ Alessio Perentin in the finals. His side of the bracket includes #14 Travis Grace and #8 Salah Tsarni, who he could see in the quarters, and #7 Claudio Torres and Ohio star Luke James, who he could see in the semis. Keep an eye on #16 Caleb Neal who’s way down at the #20 seed. He upset #8 Salah Tsarni at Journeymen recently and could be poised to pull off more upsets.

Ryan Burton could repeat as Super32 champ. His victory here in 2023 was the start of a year that included titles at Beast of the East, Escape the Rock, the New Jersey State Championships, and Fargo. Burton is a favorite in this bracket and already has a victory over second seeded Ty Eise. Burton’s path through the bracket does not appear to include ranked opponents until the semifinals where he could see #10 Waylon Cressell or #11 Mason Ontiveros who he has yet to face in his career.

The bottom side of the bracket is interesting. #3 Ty Eise and #12 Jordan Chapman could be on a collision course if Eise can get by either #13 Dylan Pile or #17 Keenan Sheridan in his quarter and if Chapman can defeat either #18 Connor Wetzel or Anthony Rinehart in his. Eise has recently moved from Colorado to Gilroy, California, so he will likely become familiar with Pile this year one way or another.
Two young wrestlers to watch are sophomore, #19 Brayden Koester from Bettendorf, Iowa and freshman, #18 Mario Hutcherson from Kiski Area, Pennsylvania as both appear ready to do damage in this bracket.

The top-ranked wrestler in the country, Harvey Ludington, is also the top seed at Super 32. With a dominant Fargo title in July and victories last month over the next two highest seeds, #3 Lane Foard and #4 Carson Thomas, Ludington is a big favorite if he’s healthy. At Elite 8 Duals, Ludington suffered an injury that forced him to withdraw from the competition and forgo Who’s Number One, but if he’s back to 100%, he’s as big a favorite as anyone in this tournament.
Future Wyoming Cowboy #3 Lane Foard earned the second seed with a strong performance at Elite 8 Duals where he collected multiple ranked victories, including one over #4 Carson Thomas. Foard finished 3rd last season at National Preps down at 165 lbs. It appears that the move up in weight isn’t a problem for Foard.
Indiana Commit #4 Carson Thomas followed his Ohio state title with a strong summer of freestyle that culminated with a 3rd place finish at Fargo. He’s become one of the top upper-weights in the country, and he’s looking to climb even higher in the rankings at Super 32.
This bracket has plenty of guys who could play spoiler to a top-four finals battle. #12 Brokton Borelli, #10 Peter Snyder, #15 Gunner Henry, #16 Robert Kucharczk, and NHSCA champ Caleb Close are all stacked on the top side of the bracket with Ludington, and they have plenty of accomplishments to their names. Foard and Thomas’ side of the bracket includes #6 Alex Smith, #18 Elijah Brown, #20 Nevin Mattessich, Fargo placer Denarii Mickel, U17 WTT placer Rider Wilder, and New Jersey standout Vincenzo LaValle.

The top three seeds at 215 lbs all appeared at Who’s Number One this year, and the 4th seed, Anthony Harris, won this tournament a year ago. Top seeded Jude Correa won a Super 32 belt in 2022, and after his victory over top-ranked heavyweight Nicholas Sahakian at Who’s Number One, he’s undeniably the favorite.
Cade Ziola vs Angelo Posada at Who's Number One
The next two seeds are #2 Cade Ziola and #4 Angelo Posada who met at 200 lbs at Who’s Number One. Ziola took that matchup, but Posada will look for revenge in their potential semifinal. Their half of the bracket includes#12 Connor Bercume, #14 Noah Weaver, and #14 Leimana Fager, so even though fans will expect to see a Ziola vs Posada rematch, it’s far from guaranteed.
Jude Correa has gone largely untested over the past year. It would be a surprise if he didn’t reach the semifinal where Anthony Harris is his probable opponent. Harris could see #11 Wyatt Bush or #17 Jason Singer in his quarterfinal, but he’d be heavily favored against either of them.
This bracket has a set of potential semifinals that seems difficult to break up, and if they happen according to seeds, you won’t want to miss them.

Now he’s moving up to heavyweight and will look to start his junior season with a Super 32 title. He owns victories over third seeded #5 Dean Bechtold, who he’s seeded to see in the semifinals, and 5th seeded #7 Jacob Levy but has yet to face many of his other potential opponents.
Michael Mocco's U17 World gold medal match
Mocco isn’t the top seed in this weight. That honor belongs to #3 Rocco Dellagatta, a Cornell commit who earned a Fargo stop sign this summer. To reach the finals, Dellagatta will have to get past potential semifinal opponents #6 Mark Effendian and #7 Jacob Levy. He beat both of them twice this freestyle season.
