Iran Wins Official Team Title, Russia Takes The Unofficial Title
Russia and Iran both had an incredible U23 World Championships in the men's freestyle division. Russia finished with 8 total medals and 175 team points, however their wrestlers were competing as neutral athletes because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and were ineligible to win the team title. That means Iran took him the title with 7 total medals and 158 total team points.

Team points are calculated according to UWW’s top 10 placement points for world championship team scoring: 25, 20, 15, 15, 10, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2.
*Russia and Belarus are not in the official team rankings because they are competing as “Individual Neutral Athletes.” However, we chose to include them in the above standings to show how those countries are performing at U17 Worlds.
Team USA Finishes in 6th Place At U23 Worlds
Only Mitchell Mesenbrinnk (bronze at 74 kg) and Jacob Cardenas (silver at 92 kg) won medals at U23 Worlds leading the way for Team USA to earn 73 points and a 6th place team finish. Check out Team USA's complete results below:
