One of the premier matchups of the night is at 285 pounds between NCAA All-Americans Nick Feldman and Taye Ghadiali. Ghadiali is also a late replacement for both Greg Kerkvliet and Yonger Bastida who were previously scheduled to wrestle Feldman at the All-Star Classic. - 2023 CKLV: Ghadiali over Feldman, 20-5 tech fall
- 2024 NCAA Tournament: Feldman over Ghadiali, 10-4 decision
The meeting between Feldman and Ghadiali will be the third match in a series that’s currently tied at one match a piece. They first met last season at the CKLV in December where Ghadiali dominated to a 20-5 tech fall win. In that match, Ghadiali’s offense was rolling early and he used three takedowns in the first period to hold a 10-2 lead after 3 minutes. Ghadialia added another takedown in the second and two more in the third period to close out the match early. It is worth noting that Feldma was apparently dealing with an injury in that match and took a significant amount of injury time after the first takedown.
The next time Feldman and Ghadiali met was after both earned All-American honors in the consolation rounds at the NCAA Tournament in March. This match was much closer and tied 1-1 in the third period before Feldman finished quickly on a lefty single to take a 4-1 lead. After Ghadiali escaped, he picked up his offense but Feldman was able to capitalize on a go-behind and a reattack single in the final minute for two more takedowns and the 10-4 victory.

Who Wins At The All-Star Classic?
Feldman and Ghadiali are two of the most athletic heavyweights in the country which should make an exciting bout at the All-Star Classic. Feldman made huge improvements since his loss to Ghadiali last year and because of Feldman’s win at NCAAs, he should be considered the favorite at the All-Star.
Both wrestlers rely primarily on their neutral offense and in both of their head-to-head matchups, neither wrestler even tried to score while on top. I expect a similar bout to the one we saw at the NCAA Tournament and we could be looking at a tied match late in the third period. However, if Feldman or Ghadiali scores early, the match could turn into a high-scoring back-and-forth match considering the offensive potential of these two big boys. I’m picking Feldman to come out on top at the All-Star because of the improvements he made last season and because he won the takedown battle in their NCAA matchup - three takedowns to zero. Regardless of who comes out on top, this should be a fun one on November 16!
