The week of the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational always produces a ton of upsets, and the 2024 edition was no exception. I counted over 100 upsets in week 6 of the 2024-25 NCAA D1 wrestling season!

100 upsets sounds like a lot, and it is! But just how massive a weekend of upsets is it? I dig into the archives and found the upsets articles that came out after the CKLV from the last two seasons and it turns out there were slightly fewer upsets in 2022 but a couple dozen more in 2023. 

So still a huge number this year but not atypical.

The usual caveats apply, with what looks like upsets now might not be and upset in the future. I also double-checked to see if I erroneously had a ranked wrestler listed as unranked, thus creating an upset where there was in fact no upset, but let me know if I allowed one (or more) to slip by!

There are also wrestlers, like Caleb Fish, who just had his redshirt pulled and would probably be ranked if he had had his redshirt pulled earlier, but I didn't want to guess at where he'd be ranked to see if his wins over ranked wrestlers would still qualify as upsets, so I just left them in.
