149 lbs Semifinal - #16 Jordan Williams, Little Rock vs Wynton Denkins, Campbell - DEC 3-2 TB2
This match was potentially the most exhilarating semifinal match of the tournament. Unranked wrestler Wynton Denkins proved his ability to hang with the top dogs, putting Jordan Williams in tight situations throughout the course of the match. Both wrestlers couldn’t help but acknowledge the others’ talent, showing good sportsmanship once the match concluded.
285 lbs Final - Cole Mirasola, Penn State vs #23 Lucas Stoddard, Army - MD 9-0
Cole Mirasola proved himself more than worthy of the Scuffle heavyweight title, defeating U23 world team representative and #23 in the nation, Lucas Stoddard from the Army. Despite a huge gap in size and stature, Mirasola dominated the match, securing a 9-0 major decision.
149 lbs Final - #16 Jordan Williams, Little Rock vs Connor Pierce, Penn State - DEC 10-5
Junior Jordan Williams put his explosive offense and savvy defense on display against the redshirt sophomore Nittany Lion, finishing with a 10-5 decision.
174 lbs Consolation Semifinal - Caleb Campos, American vs #4 Lennox Wolak, Virginia Tech - Fall 1:44
Unranked wrestler Caleb Campos of American dominated nationally ranked Lennox Wolak of Virginia Tech in the first two minutes of the consi-semis. Campos locked up a head throw to start the match, securing a seven-point-lead. After getting reversed by Wolak and later escaping, Campos locked up double unders that would lead to his pinning hip toss.
184 lbs Semifinal - Zack Ryder, Penn State vs #20 TJ Stewart, Virginia Tech - Fall 4:06
A big fall for Penn State’s true freshman over returning All-American TJ Stewart.
133 lbs 5th Place - Blake Boarman, Chattanooga vs TK Davis, Gardner-Webb - DEC 6-5
This bout featured a back-and-forth exchange of flurries between both wrestlers. Number four seed, Blake Boarman, beat the 133-pound Scuffle Champ, Nasir Bailey, earlier in the season by a major decision. However, Boarman was upset by Kyle Burwick of North Dakota State in the quarterfinals, eventually leading to the meeting between these two exciting wrestlers in the 5th place bout.
197 lbs Quarterfinal - Sonny Sasso, Virginia Tech vs Tayshaun Glover, North Dakota State - Fall 3:38
A not so unexpected pinfall for Sonny Sasso in the second period.
133 lbs Final - #9 Nasir Bailey, Little Rock vs #24 Dom Serrano, Northern Colorado - DEC 4-1 SV
A tight match led to an overtime victory for #1 seed Nasir Bailey.
