The Young Guns Wrestling Club was recently ranked the #1 wrestling club in the country, and for good reason: Young Guns leads the country in ranked individuals in Flo's All-Class Rankings as well as on the Big Boards. It goes without saying that Iowa and Pennsylvania sprout more than their fair share of talented individuals, but without elite-level coaches like Eric Juergens and Jody Strittmatter, next-level success would not occur for as many individuals as it has.
Eric Juergens (2x NCAA Champion at IOWA) and Jody Stritmatter (2x NCAA Champion at UPJ) have an encyclopedia's worth of wrestling knowledge and upper-level technique. Here we have both coaches showing takedowns that they teach at Young Guns.
Eric Juergens' Underhook to Leg Attack Series
This is a fantastic series. Juergens shows his underhook series. One thing he does differently is he uses his attack arm to underhook. He feels this allows him to do much more than just a snap or high crotch. He feels he can attack so well, and with a variety of attacks, from underhooking with his attack arm.
Jody Strittmatter's Head Inside Single to Cut Back
Jody Strittmatter shows a great the head fake to head inside single, cuts his opponent back as his opponent counters and then transitions right away to the turk for back points.
