Christian Pyles Added to Flowrestling
Press Release
As Flowrestling continues their quest to raise the bar in wrestling media, we seek to add talented and passionate staff members that provide the public with engaging coverage and insight.
After a nationwide search that garnered submissions from many quality applicants, the team ultimately decided that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to bring on board a talent that has already been a tremendous asset to the us as a part-time contributor.
Christian Pyles of Staunton, VA has been named Assistant Editor of Flowrestling, a full-time position that will have him performing a variety of functions. In addition to serving as our in-house College Analyst where he produces his very popular event previews and weekly rankings, Pyles will also be in the field conducting wrestling coverages and managing the FloInsider profile database.
For Pyles, the position at FLO has been a culmination of following the sport closely and contributing to several outlets when opportunities presented themselves.
"I found myself over the years watching a few hours a day of matches or any technique videos I could get my eyes on. Soon I discovered Flowrestling in its very early stages and became a daily user of the site. It has been my favorite wrestling site ever since."
"Seeking the desire to discuss the spot with peers I began frequenting message boards who (for the most part) tolerated my ambitious, and no doubt annoying energy for the sport."
"For the last 5 years I've been the head coach of my Alma-Mater where we've had moderate success throughout the years. In 2010 I was named City/County Coach of the year (it's like the Heisman trophy but for wrestling coaches who live within a 30 mile radius)."
"Through watching an embarrassing amount of film, reading, and participating on discussion boards for years I honed my love for the sport into a very specific expertise in the area of D1 college wrestling. Working for or contributing to Flo was more a pipe dream than anything and I'll always be thankful for the Flo-brass and Willie Saylor for giving me a shot. I'll try to repay them by doing my absolute best on every piece of content I'll provide."
Editor of Flowrestling, Willie Saylor touted many things about Pyles' ability.
"Christian has been nothing but a stud, churning out not just quantity but quality. He jumped at every assignment I ever threw at him, and often took it upon himself to create timely and engaging features without being prompted. That exemplified his work ethic and showed a great deal of creativity and passion to the entire FLO team."
"His ability to scout and breakdown technique has been a game-changer in wrestling media. And he shares our vision of doing more, more, more. I can only imagine what he can produce in a full-time role. It was a big decision and I'm excited and relieved that it will be Christian that I get to work with on a daily basis to provide the best wrestling coverage and to achieve our goals in the process."
Flowrestling CEO, Martin Floreani, is excited about the hire. "Christian Pyles proved to be absolutely brilliant in his 2012-13 Season as our College Analyst. I can't think of another person I would rather have join our team to execute this role.
He is another example of Flowrestling hiring the contributors and mavens in our sport that blend wrestling passion with media sensibilities."
Welcome aboard, Christian. Enjoy the ride.
