Aaron Pico answered the question. Is the prodigy ready for the Senior Circuit?
The same formula that saw him dominate in high school and power his way to a Cadet World Title was successful on Saturday against a talented Russian opponent.
Pushing the pace, controlling the center of the mat, and always being the aggressor, Pico, who is just a Sophomore in high school, blanked Ali Emeev who was coming off a runner-up finish at NYAC's.
As for the rest of America's team, it was close, but no cigar. Russia won the dual 4 bouts to 3.
Moza Fay (74KG) and Tyrell Fortune (120KG) were the other winners for Team USA.
The pivotal match came at 84KG where World Team Member, Keith Gavin, had a 4-2 lead in the second period before a late Russian rally sealed the bout, and as things played out, the dual.
