At Ithaca, N.Y., Sunday, November 17
It didn't start pretty, but the U.S. team rallied to win four of the last five matches to take the second dual from Russia.
With the dual split at three matches apiece, it all came down to Heavyweight where Zach Rey (LVAC) dec. Aleksandr Kusraev, 2-0 on a passive point and a push out.
That bout was one of only two matches where there weren't bonus points. Kyle Dake won a methodical 2-1 match over Boris Makoev. The five other results were all pins or techs.
Russia came firing out of the gates, posting 15 points to USA's 0 in two techs at 55kg and 60kg.
Kellen Russell then got the U.S. back on track in a wild match. After a long, crazy scramble, Russell earned the go ahead points late to make it 13-11. Emeev essentially gave up and was pinned, but not before he threw a punch.
