Brute Wrestler Of The Week: Aaron Pico

Aaron Pico's Historic Win Earns Brute WOW
Christian Pyles
Each week throughout the season, Brute brings you the best performances of the weekend. College or high school, the guys who turned in streling results are highlighted here.
Between the two USA v. Russia Duals and all the college action around the country, we were rife with options for Brute Wrestler of the Week.
The word 'history' can be overused at times in the sports world for the sake of hyperbole. However, Aaron Pico's win over an accomplished Senior level Russian opponent can only be described as historic. It was only a few minutes of wrestling for the weekend, but Aaaron's heavy hands and relentless pace earned him an 8-0 technical fall over Emeev of Russia.
At only 17 years old, Aaron did what many felt was unthinkable. He won in the way we have come to expect him to win, with dominance. Any questions as to whether his previous success was a result of Aaron simply being more physically mature than his opponents got put to rest in a hurry.
While Aaron's high school competition is still up in the air, we can rest assure we'll be seeing him again before too long.
Other Wrestler of the Week Nominees:
David Habat: The Edinboro 149 lber had a solid win over All American Zach Neibert of Virginia Tech 10-7.
Ryan Watts: The 157 lber from Michigan State sent a message with a win over All American RJ Pena of Oregon State.
Adam Coon: The Michigan heavyweight went 3-0 this weekend. He got a measure of revenge from Amarveer Dhesi of Oregon State with a 7-3 win. Last Spring Dhesi dominated Coon in FILA Junior Finals.
Amarveer Dhesi: Dhesi, of Oregon State had a solid this weekend in dual meet competition. Dhesi made a statement at 285 with a 6-0 win over #7 Mike McClure of MSU.
