2014 Southern Scuffle "Goody Bag"
Secretly I say #Midlands51 is toughest tourney outside of NCAAS but, man, #southernscuffle is what Midlands was 10yrs ago @UTCWrestling

This Year's Scuffle Plays Host To:
-34 Returning All Americans (that's almost half from last year)
-8 NCAA Finalists
-4 NCAA Champions: Taylor, Perry, Ruth, Nelson
-8 of the top 15 P4P wrestlers in the country
-89 of the 200 ranked wrestlers
-5 #1 Ranked wrestlers in the country: Dardanes, Taylor, Ruth, Schiller, Nelson
-The Top 3 NCAA Teams: #1 Penn State, #2 Minnesota, #3 Oklahoma State
The Flo Gang has been looking forward to the Scuffle all year, but we're surely not the only ones. We assume Penn State fanatics will be sporting their favorite paraphernailia (----->) whether they're in Chatanooga or watching it LIVE on Flo. We heard J Robinson just got a dandy little Christmas gift from his Minny wrestlers that should allow him to move around the tournament with ease. We know John Smith has his crew in top form |

and his top wrestlers aren't shy about tweeting their enthusiasm to compete at the Scuffle on Twitter. The message board threads are rolling in and as pre-seeds have been revealed, just know this: there will be no shortage of buzz on wrestling forums from now until the tourney's conclusion. |
It's time to kick off 2014 right and time to watch the grand daddy of all in-season NCAA wrestling tournaments. IT'S SOUTHERN SCUFFLE TIME!
Remember...
This is the tournament where we saw Dake/Taylor II...and argued about that 3rd period reversal call for months.
It's where we noticed how nicely Jordan Oliver's move up to 149 played out -the guys at 49 are just too slow for him. It's the site where we got to see Alan Gologaev go NUCLEAR on Penn State's Jimmy Lawson. It's where we started to understand that Tyler Caldwell isn't quite on David Taylor's level. And it's when we started to believe that PSU is nearly invincible and on their way to another NCAA title. |
