Brackets A and B went according to plan with the top two seeds, Illinois and Ohio, taking care of business without much resistance. 

But that wasn't the case in Brackets C and D.

Pennsylvania, the 3rd overall seed, and the top seed in Bracket C, reached the finals against Oklahoma who pushed them to the wire. PA won 9 bouts to 8 and took the dual 38-35.

In Bracket D, Michigan, the 3rd seed in the bracket and the 12th overall seed, edged the 5th overall seed, Washington, 39-36 in the semis, before crushing the 4th overall seed, Utah, in the finals, 53-26.
