FloWrestler of the Week: Ethan Ramos, UNC
FloWrestler of the Week: Ethan Ramos, UNC
In a dual meet that started with nothing but dominance from visiting Virginia, the Tarheels would not be discouraged as they rattled off a four-match string of wins to storm out to a 14-7 lead.
The fourth win truly the highlight of the dual as freshman Ethan Ramos, UNC claimed a 6-4 sudden victory win over second-ranked Nick Sulzer of Virginia. After trailing early, Ramos came back to score a takedown to take the 4-3 lead before Sulzer gained an escape to force overtime.
However, Ramos rode the momentum and was able to secure the win with a takedown in the first sudden victory period to solidify the upset in UNC’s dual meet victory over Virginia, 17-16.
Ramos' great come from behind win earns him the FloWrestler of the Week award.
