The third and final leg of the Trinity Award will take place this weekend as more than 1,500 youth wrestlers from 25+ states will compete in this year’s event. This event annually features some of the top youth wrestling talent in the country and this year will be no different. 

Below, we take a look at some of the top storylines in this year’s event as well as a weight class by weight class preview of the country's future high school stars in the 15 and under division.
 

Flo Reno Worlds Wrestlers Looking For Trinity Awards

Five wrestlers in the 15 and under age group are will compete for their shot at the Trinity Award. These wrestlers are: Eric Faught (89lbs), Mosha Schwartz (89lbs), Jaryn Curry (145lbs), Josh Myers (157lbs), and Jerome Townsell (175lbs). 

There are another seven 12 and under wrestlers who will compete for their shot at the Trinity Award: Jett Strickenberger (64lbs), Carter Young (70lbs), Cullan Schriever (76lbs), Jaxon Smith(92lbs), James Pierandozzi (92lbs), Josh Saunders (105lbs), Tracey Hunter (130lbs). 

15 and under Preview:

Below, we take a weight class by weight class look at some of the top wrestlers who are registered to compete this weekend in Reno. 


75-pounds

The top wrestler in the 75-pound weight class is Tulsa National Champion Kellyn March. March took home the Tulsa National title in April and has since added a South Dakota State Championship. 

Challenging him for the top spot will be Nevada State Champion Bryce Bell and Nicholas Bermudez from California. 

82-pounds

Leading the 82-pound weight class is one of the top youth wrestlers in the state of Washington in Isaiah Gonzalez. He’ll look to earn his first notable national championship of the season but will have to get past the likes of Mason Denton from Utah and Blake Fredrickson from California. 

89-pounds

The 89-pound weight class is loaded with talent as it features two wrestlers who will look to win the 2015 Trinity Award. Leading the way is Eric Faught from Iowa who will look to win his first Trinity Award this weekend. He’ll be challenged by Mosha Schwartz from Colorado who owns not only Kickoff Classic and a Tulsa National Championship but also a Super 32 title. 

Joining Faught and Schwartz will be defending USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle National Champion Ridge Lovett. Others to keep an eye on include Elijah Blake from California and Legend Lamer from South Dakota. 

95-pounds

Headlining the 95-pound weight class is Domenic Zaccone of Illinois. Zaccone, who is an Illinois State Champion, recently took home the bronze medal at the USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle National Championships. 

Competing with him in this weight class are Ryan Chauvin, a Colorado State Champion, and Matthew Olguin, a California State Champion. Both wrestlers should give Zaccone a run for his money and make deep runs into the tournament. 

101-pounds

Travis Ford-Melton will look to add a Reno World Championship to his resume this weekend as he’ll be competing in the 101-pound weight class. The Illinois State Champion will be one of the favorites in the weight class but he’ll have to get past the likes of Nicolas Aguilar from California, Zander Condit from Colorado, Alex Cruz from Washington, and Max Wheeler from Washington. 

108-pounds

Leading the way in the 108-pound weight class is Julian Chlebove from Pennsylvania. Chlebove, who took home a silver medal at the Flo Kickoff Classic and a gold medal at the Flo Tulsa Nationals, will look to win his second consecutive World of Wrestling event. 

In order to do so he’ll have to get past a pair of California standouts in Jaden Abas and Jesse Vasquez. 

115-pounds

Wrestlers to keep an eye on in the 115-pound weight class include Kaden Zorn from Utah, Mason Christensen from Utah, Zeferino Oshiro from California and Jacob Schubmehl from Oregon. 

125-pounds

Leading the 125-pound weight class is Utah standout Isaac Wilcox. He’ll be joined by California State Champion Robert Garcia IV, Adrian Gonzalez from California, and Lawrence Vigil Jr. from Nevada. 

135-pounds

Some of the wrestlers who are expected to compete for a Reno Worlds Championship in the 135-pound weight class are Brock Hardy from Utah, Troy Mantanona from California, and Noah Blake from California. You can expect both Hardy and Mantanona to make a deep run within the 135-pound bracket. 

145-pounds

Jaryn Curry from Oklahoma will look to complete his quest for a 2015 Trinity Award this weekend as he’ll compete in the 145-pound weight class. He’ll be the favorite to take home the title but will have to wrestle past a handful of contenders. 

In order for Curry to complete the feat he’ll have to get past Cole Moody from Utah, Noah Burkhart from California, Raymond Figueroa from California, and Troy Madrigal from California. 

157-pounds

Josh Myers will try and win his first Trinity Award this weekend as he’ll compete in the 157-pound weight class. He already owns the Flo Tulsa Kickoff and Flo Tulsa Nationals title and will look to complete the trio this weekend. 

Myers will be sure to receive some stiff competition from Anthony Almaguer from Washington, Xavier Herrera from Colorado, and Aaron Olmos from California. 

175-pounds

Jerome Townsell from Oklahoma owns both a Flo Kickoff Classic Championship and a Flo Tulsa National Championship. Those titles will make him the odds on favorite to win the 175-pound weight class this weekend as he tries to win his first Trinity Award. 

In order for him to stand atop the podium he’ll have to get past the likes of Jared Walker from Idaho, Jason Fields from Washington, Kenny Lane from Oregon and Oscar Lopez from Colorado. 

200-pounds

The leading candidate for the 200-pound title is Antonio Andrade from California. He’ll be challenged by Ty Arnett from Nevada and Dylan Crane from California. 

Others to keep an eye on include Andrew Herrera from California, Skylar Hughes from Idaho, and Tommy Mommer from Arizona. 

285-pounds

David Aranda from Palomino Academy in California will lead a talented field of 285-pound wrestlers. A defending Southwest Kickoff Classic Champion, Aranda will look to win his first World of Wrestling event this weekend. 

He’ll have to battle past the likes of Parker Adair from Oregon, Tanner Jones from Oregon, Juan Lopez from California, Sheldon Miller from Nevada, and Preston Ohman from Washington.
