Later today, 33 all-star dual teams will compete for the 2015 USA Wrestling Freestyle National Dual Championship at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year’s event will feature 33 teams from a total of 25 different states.
Leading this year’s field will be the defending Freestyle National Dual Champions, Pennsylvania Blue. After taking home the championship a season ago, they will look to defend their title as they will be led by 70-pound Sheldon Seymour, Kurt Phipps, and David Evans.
Team Illinois has made a deep run in the Greco National Duals and will look to improve upon their 2nd place finish in the Freestyle National Duals a season ago. Leading this year’s team is 91-pound Luke Odom, 98-pound Dominic Zaccone and Jimmy Pierandozzi, 128-pound Juan Bazaldua, and 265-pound Ronald Tucker. Bazaldua is currently ranked the No. 10 wrestler on the Flo Wrestling Junior High Big Board.
Another team to keep an eye on in Pennsylvania Red, who may be the better of the two Pennsylvania teams. Leading the way for PA Red is 70-pound Ian Oswalt, 91-pound JJ White, and 112-pound Beau Bartlett. Bartlett, who is one of the top youth wrestlers in the country, is currently ranked No. 14 overall by Flo Wrestling.
Team Colorado Red has once again loaded up on talent as they will look to win their second consecutive Greco-Roman title later today. They should also be able to make a nice run in the Freestyle portion of the event as they are led by Colorado Triple Crown Winners Jackson Eller, Beau Ohlson, Aaden Valdez, Drew Eller, Jimmy Ramirez, and Andy Garcia.
Other wrestlers to keep an eye on during the event include No. 3 wrestlers Josh Saunders who is competing for Team Missouri, No. 12 wrestler Cullan Schriever who is competing for Team Iowa, No. 22 wrestler Jaxon Smith on Team Georgia, No. 36 wrestler Cade DeVos from Iowa, and No. 40 wrestler Anthony Clark from New Jersey.
We’ll have an update and recap of both the Greco-Roman and Freestyle National Duals so be sure to stay locked into FloWrestling.com!
