We saw them meet in Greco, then we saw them go at it the following day in Freestyle, and now it’s time to complete the trilogy.

 

Top-ranked Fargo Champ Hayden Hidlay will put his number one ranking on the line against Cadet World Champ Mason Manville at Who’s No. 1. Last year at this time Manville held the top spot (at 160), but after dropping his finals match to Alex Marinelli at Ironman, he fell in the rankings.

 

Recently, it became official that Manville will sport the powder blue and navy singlet for Wyoming Seminary this season, so reclaiming the number one spot at 152 could be quite a way to kick things off with his new team.

 

However, Hidlay already owns a pair of wins over the future Nittany Lion, and is certainly going to put up an intense fight to get the third. In their first meeting in the Greco finals in Fargo, things got pretty heated resulting in the push, the scream (by Hidlay) and very sincere apology. Their second meeting (in Freestyle) wasn’t as heated, but the tension was evident nonetheless.

 

After meeting in the finals the FloNationals Champ said he wanted to get into Manville's head to knock him off his game, so maybe he will revisit that game plan when they meet again on October 17.

 

This will be Manville’s second appearance at WNO after claiming an OT win over Grant Leeth in 2013. But will the brand new Blue Knight be able to rise to the occasion and get his second win in the Snakepit while exacting some revenge? Or will Hidlay make it three in row?
