Texas School of Wrestling Presents The Texas Throwdown

The Texas School of Wrestling has put together a competitive card of wrestlers of all different ages for its Texas Throwdown All-Star dual.

 

The night will be headlined by a Bedlam battle between Kendric Maple and Jon Morrison along with a huge match between Dustin Kilgore and Wynn Michalak. Things will get started with a pair of the extremely talented youth wrestlers in Cullan Schriever, who is ranked 12 on the Jr. High Big Board, and Vincent Zerban, the top ranked 76-pound wrestler in the World of Wrestling ranking.

Quincy and Kennedy Monday will also do battle against Xavier Torres and Jake Hart. Quincy claimed All-America status at Fargo this season and will look to take out Torres, who was the 5A Folkstyle State Champ at 113 this year.

 

Older brother Kennedy, who won the 120-pound 6A Folkstyle State title this year, and Hart, a former five-time Youth Folkstyle State Champ will follow.

Maple and Morrison, who went to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, will meet in a battle at 61kg. Maple recently made the descent down to 61kg when he made his debut at the weight at the US Open this year, where he was the runner-up to World Team Member, Reece  Humprey, while Morrison placed 5th. Maple defeated Morrison at both the U.S. Open and World Team Trials. Both Michalak and Kilgore made the quarterfinals of the Open before losing. Michalak ended up 6th and Kilgore 8th. The last time the two met at World Team Trials they accounted for 41 total points as Varner walked away the winner.
