Neighboring states clash hard here as Cadet World Champ Jarod Verkleeren, of Pennsylvania, looks to defend his #1 ranking against New Jersey’s Kyle Bierdumpfel.
Verkleeren lit up everyone with his leg lace at the World Championships. Now he will attempt to light up the Snakepit against Bierdumpfel. The Cadet World champ may have had the most impressive road to making the World Team this year. He was literally unconscious in the finals against Kanen Storr.
However, he came back to get the win after they deemed that he was well enough to finish the bout and get the win. Needless to say, Bierdumpfel will have his work cut out for him because Verkleeren is a serious hammer.
But the Jersey boy is no slouch himself. After a pair of runner-up finishes, Bierdumpfel finally claimed a state title last season. He has also had a few third and fourth place finishes at Fargo as well as the Beast of the East. As the current #2-ranked wrestler at 145, he would surely like to prove that he's up for any test that the World Champ can throw at him.
Can Verkleeren defend his home state or will Bierdumpfel take the top spot back to New Jersey?
