Ex-wrestlers, have you ever had that dream where you have a competition coming up but realize you are completely unprepared? Nowhere close to weight or way out of shape? You're not alone. During the filming of The Mind of Mark Schultz we heard from Mark Schultz himself about a recurring nightmare he has from his senior year in college at the University of Oklahoma, his first year without his brother Dave Schultz around.

In Mark Schultz's own words:

"My senior year was the most pressure packed year of my life. I have nightmares to this day about my senior year in college. I have this nightmare that keeps recurring, I’ve had it at least 50 times.

It's like two weeks, or a month, or a day before the NCAA’s and for some reason I forgot to workout, and now I’ve gotta figure out a way to win the NCAAs without being in shape.

And I think of all these things. I’m coming up with ideas… I’m gonna fake a bunch of stalling calls, or I’m gonna stab myself in the leg. I just don’t know how I’m gonna do it, you know? And then I wake up in a cold sweat, you know?
 
It’s just so much pressure your senior year to go out a winner your senior year. Because I’m the defending two- time NCAA champion and outstanding wrestler. And my senior year, its just, everybody’s shooting for me.

I was all alone. Everybody -- Dave, Andre -- they all graduated. There was more pressure on me to win big for the team, and I wasn’t like a big pinner, but you know coach Able needed me to pin. Jim Humphrey took off to coach Canada. It was the most miserable year, experience I’d ever been through, besides Foxcatcher."
