Michalak and Kilgore Like To Put Up Points
Michalak and Kilgore Like To Put Up Points
If you watched our #MidnightSnack on Wednesday, you saw Wynn Michalak and Dustin Kilgore go at it in a high-scoring battle at the World Team Trials.
They went after each other and scored 34 points in the first period alone. Michalak got the scoring started with a slick inside trip followed by a gut wrench to go up, 6-0 (gif 1). Not only did he create his own offense in the first period, he scored off of Kilgore's attacks like he did here with this chest lock (gif 2). Kilgore battled back as the two put together intense flurries of nonstop point scoring. Scramble ability was definitely the theme of the first period. I mean c’mon, this is how they finished the first period (gif 3).

Although Michalak was able to come out on top of some scramble and put up some points early on in the bout, it was all Kilgore in the second period. Kilgore's front headlock (gifs 4 and 5) and quick use of an underhook late in the bout were the keys for him in the second period (gif 6).
These two big men know how to move and if their bout at WTT, which ended in favor of Kilgore 23-16, is any indication of what’s to come at the Texas Throwdown this weekend, then we are in for a treat. To get a nice little preview of what’s to come, check out the full match here.
