WNO Announcement: 182-Pound Match-up Set
What a difference a year makes. For Dakota Geer a year of improvements took him from the bottom of the podium to the top at FloNationals. Couple that with the Pennsylvania state title that he won just a few weeks prior and it proved that he is the man to beat at 182-pounds coming into this season.
But does he have what it takes to defend that spot against Beau Breske, who has shown to be one of the best at 170. Breske is making the move up to 182 after claiming another Fargo title and will now look to take over as the top dog when he takes on Geer at Who’s #1 on October 17th.
Geer is a very long and lanky wrestler while Breske is a bit shorter, compact and built more for power. The long limbs of Geer could cause some problems for Breske, especiallybecause Geer is very good at tying up the hands of his opponents and attacking low. That game plan could work well against Breske, who shoots from space and attacks with power.
This match-up is a complete style clash. For Breske to score against Geer he will have to control the ties and keep his feet moving. Geer is not just good on his feet, he has no problem locking up a tilt and picking up a few back points. His length and ability to tie up his opponents is going to come in handy here for the PA state champ.
Will Geer be able to control the very powerful Wisconsin kid? Or can Breske’s blast double propel him to a win?
