Ladies and Gentlemen, Beau Bartlett.

Let’s just say that the 8th grader, yes, that’s right 8th grader, had a grand ol’ time crushing dudes on the way to winning his second Eastern States title.

As a 7th grader he claimed the 99-pound title over current #1-ranked 106-pounder Adam Busiello. Now flash forward to this year where he is now at 113 and came away with another title. However, this time he defeated senior and future NC State wrestler #12-Tommy Cox…for the second time this year. The first time was at the Journeymen ASICS Northeast Duals in an all-star match at 118-pounds. This past weekend he defeated Cox handily in the finals 12-5 to claim the title at 113.

Bartlett didn’t even have a full match until meeting Cox in the finals. He recorded three technical falls and a pair of pins before getting the 12-5 win in the finals.

It was an absolute dominant showing for the youngster and that’s why he is our FloWrestler of the Week.

Other FloWrestler of the Week Nominees:

Julian Chlebove, Northampton: In his first tournament down at 113, Chlebove was dominant on his way to the finals where he only needed an escape, along with some pretty great defense, to get the 1-0 win over #5-Matty Parker of Pennridge in the finals.

Tommy Thorn, Minnesota: Thorn dominated Rutgers’ Anthony Ashnault 8-1 as Minnesota defeated their New Jersey guests 17-16.

Zain Retherford, Penn State: The Zain Train is rolling with a full head of steam and it does not matter who is in the way. Retherford recorded a dominant 15-5 victory over NCAA champ Jason Tsirtsis as the Nittany Lions shut out Northwestern. P.S. Retherford had 3:33 seconds of riding time in the win also.

Nick Suriano, Bergen Catholic: As if he couldn’t cement his #1 status anymore than it already is, Suriano put together another solid weekend with wins over #2-Luke Karam (for the third time this year) and #4-Joey Silva at the first ever Who’s #1 Duals.
